What is Mindful CoherenceTM

Mindful Coherence is a structured approach designed to help parents better understand and respond to their teenager’s behaviour. It focuses on common challenges such as communication breakdown, emotional reactions, and sudden behavioural changes, giving you practical ways to handle them more effectively at home.

The method is based on established psychotherapy principles and over 30 years of experience working with adolescents and families. It centres on real conversations between you and your children and practical application, helping you recognise patterns and respond in a way that reduces conflict and improves stability at home.

How it developed

Mindful Coherence has been shaped through years of working directly with individuals, families, and adolescents, alongside running retreats and workshops in South West France. This experience, combined with ongoing research and therapeutic practice, has informed a structured but flexible way of supporting families through the challenges of adolescence.

How the approach works

The approach focuses on understanding what is driving your teenager’s behaviour, learning how to respond without escalating situations, and building more consistent, manageable communication over time. Instead of applying a single rigid method, it adapts to your family’s situation and the specific challenges you are facing.

Ways to access support

You can engage with this approach through a series of online courses, supporting eBooks, or private sessions. The Parenting Adolescent Series covers topics such as adolescent development, communication strategies, and maintaining your own mental wellbeing as a parent. These resources can be used independently or alongside live sessions, depending on how you prefer to learn!

The beautiful point about MindCo is that we are offering you options so you might discover the right path for you and your family to begin your journey to wholeness. There are two main paths you can venture down with the MindCo Method.

The first is the Parenting Adolescent Series, consisting of six online courses which are modules under this series, which flow together but can also be take on their own if needed. They cover topics such as understanding adolescent development, effective communication strategies, through to you as a parent maintaining strong mental wellness and guidance for effective selfcare. These courses all have supporting eBooks which can also be accessed without attending the webinar if the date and time don’t suit or you prefer self-study for solutions and not want to draw on learnings from other parents facing similar challenges.

Discover

Once you have chosen the path to begin your journey then how you learn is for you to decide and at your pace. There is a wealth of knowledge pulled from many of the courses and retreats I have been facilitating for the past two decades. It is on this journey that you will begin to feel and understand the knowledge you are embracing. By giving yourself permission to inquire you will discover your families deepest needs and also perhaps some of their greatest gifts too.

Recover

Your family’s recovery may look like a thirst for more knowledge or it may look like some real-time sessions with me.
