Private therapeutic support when you need more than a resource
If you are seeking immediate guidance, deeper understanding, or a more personal conversation, you can book a private session with me online or enquire about in person support at Chez Vallée.
When a private session may be right
A private session may be helpful if you feel that webinars or eBooks have opened up further questions, or if your situation feels too personal, complex or urgent for general guidance.
You may be a parent trying to understand your adolescent.
You may be an individual seeking support with your own emotional wellbeing.
You may be part of a couple or family trying to find a more honest way to communicate.
The first step is often the hardest one.
My role is to offer a safe, compassionate and non judgemental space where we can begin to understand what is happening and whether I can meaningfully support your journey.
What happens in the first session
If this is your first session with me, the intention is to get to know you and understand what has brought you here.
We will look at your current situation, what feels most difficult, and what kind of support may be most appropriate.
If you choose to continue, and I feel I can contribute meaningfully, I will suggest a way forward and we can review this together as the work unfolds.
What is therapy?
Choosing a therapist can feel confusing. There are many people available online, and it can be hard to know who to trust.
The most important part of therapeutic work is the professional relationship. You need to feel that you can trust me. I need to offer compassion, empathy, honesty and non judgement. From there, the work can begin.
Therapy may be a relatively short process focused on one immediate concern. It may also become a deeper process of self discovery, involving the past, your relationships, your patterns and the way you have learned to survive.
Both routes are valid.
Online appointments
Private sessions can take place online, allowing you to access support from the comfort of your own home, wherever you are in the world.
The MindCo approach combines generational wisdom from different cultures I have worked within, established therapeutic methods such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, and the broader holistic understanding that has shaped my life and practice.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I know if a private session is right for me?
If you are finding it hard to move forward, feel disconnected from yourself or others, or simply want a private space to think things through with someone experienced, this may be a good place to start. You do not need to have it all figured out before your first session.
Are sessions held online or in person?
Private sessions can take place online, so you can access support from wherever you are in the world.
Do I need to commit to a long programme?
No. You do not need to commit to anything before we have spoken. The first session is a place to get to know one another and decide whether Amanda can meaningfully support you.
